Beautiful Limoges/German tea set with rare tea and toast plates. This charming mixed set includes a large teapot, with matching sugar and creamer, and two tea and toast sets. The factory marks on the pieces are also mixed. The teapot is marked with the Hutschenreuther (Germany) factory mark. The matching sugar and creamer are unmarked, but are of the same mold as the teapot. The toast trays are double marked with the Haviland underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1894-1931, and the Haviland overglaze mark in red, circa 1889-1931. The teacups are marked with the Vignaud Freres underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1938 and after. All pieces of the set are decorated with lovely pink roses and greenery on a white background. The gold gilding is in excellent condition with very minimal wear to the rims of the toast plates. The large teapot stands 7 ¼" tall to the top of the finial and measures just over 6" across the base. The sugar bowl stands 5" to the top of the finial, and the creamer is 4 ¼" tall. The toast plates measure 8" long, and the teacups stand 2" high. This outstanding set is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration. |
