Lovely vintage vase with pansies. This elegant blank features a fluted mouth along with a flowing, raised design on the body of the vase. Though unmarked, the vase has the look and feel of fine European translucent porcelain, and is most likely Austrian or Bavarian in origin. It is expertly hand painted with colorful pansies in shades of yellow, purple, lavender, blue, and mauve. Background colors are pastel shades of yellow, blue, green, and pink. The fluted mouth of the vase is decorated with vibrant gold gilding that is in excellent condition. The very talented artist has initialed the vase, A. C. S., near one of the pansies. The vase stands 8 ½" tall and measures 5 ½" across at its widest point. With no chips, cracks, or restoration, this vintage vase is in excellent condition. Rare Limoges vase with wild roses. This unusual vase features double, leaf-shaped handles, a scalloped and ribbed base, and a very irregular and ornate upper rim. It is beautifully hand painted, front and back, with trailing wild roses in shades of fuchsia and soft pink. The roses have raised enamel highlights in their centers. Background colors are off-white, muted green, taupe, and blue. The irregular rim is decorated with gold gilding that is in good condition, with wear noted to the many high points of the upper rim. The vase is marked with the Latrille Freres underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1899-1913. It stands 10 ¼" tall and measures 6 ½" in diameter. Pretty and petite Limoges footed vase. This bulbous vase measures 5 ½" in diameter at its widest point, and is 4 ¾" tall. Its base measures 3" in diameter and is marked with the Laviolette Factory underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1896-1905. The vase is hand painted with beautifully executed pink roses and greenery on a soft white and pale green background. The scalloped rim is trimmed with gold gilding that does show slight wear. The vase is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. |

Outstanding Limoges portrait vase, signed Henriot. This petite vase stands slightly less than 7 ¾" tall and measures 2 ¾" in diameter at the base. The fabulous artwork that adorns this vase is amazing. Signed by listed French-factory artist, Henriot, the scene is of a lovely young woman collecting water from a hillside spring. The woodland setting is beautiful in its detail, with dense trees, shrubs, grasses, and flowers surrounding the entire vase and framing the beautiful portrait. The upper and base rims of the vase are decorated with rich gold gilding that is in excellent condition. The vase is marked with the P. M. Mavaleix underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1908-1914. The Blakeman and Henderson overglaze exporting mark, in green, also appears on the bottom of the vase. This outstanding hand painted vase features a young woman holding a bonnet of flowers on one side and cascading pink wild roses and foliage on the other side. Background colors include olive green, mint green, blue, pink, and yellow. The small mouth of the vase is decorated with gold gilding. The artist, F. M. Standish, has signed the side of the vase. The vase stands just over 9" tall and is marked with the Rosenthal, Bavaria, underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1898-1906. A raised mold mark does extend down one side of the vase. Exquisite Limoges vase with iris. This gorgeous trumpet-shaped vase is hand painted with fuchsia and lavender ruffled iris and greenery on a translucent ground of brown, amber, taupe, and almond. This wonderfully translucent pallet gives the vase the appearance of being lit from within. The mouth of the vase is decorated with brushed gold gilding. The vase stands an impressive 13 ½" tall and measures 6 ½" in diameter at its widest point. It is marked with the Remy Delinieres and Company underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1894-1900, as well as the Bernardaud and Company overglaze decorating mark in red, circa 1900-1930's. The vase is flawless with the exception of a tiny gap in the brushed gilding on the inner rim. The wonderful gold gilding is in very good condition, with minimal wear around the neck of the vase. This beauty measures 10" tall and is 6" from handle to handle. Beautiful American studio decorated vase with chrysanthemums. This vase features a scalloped rim and foot along with front and back panels. The panels are framed with beadwork and an elegant sculpted design. Both panels are expertly hand painted with realistic chrysanthemums in pastel shades of yellow and pink. Background colors are white, pale blue, and lavender. A vibrant rusty red shade covers the side panels and upper portion of the vase. Heavily applied gold gilding accents the rim, foot, and raised relief border. The gilding is in excellent condition. The artist's signature, S. Sherratt, appears on the bottom of the vase. Under the artist's signature, the date, "1898" is etched underglaze. The Sherratt Studio was located in Washington, D. C. The vase stands 6 ¼" tall and measures 6" across at its widest point. Wonderful Limoges vase with European city scene and wild roses. This large moon-shaped vase stands 8 ¾" tall, 9 ¼" wide, and 3" deep. One side of the vase features a realistic city scene, while the opposite side is decorated with vibrant pink wild roses and greenery on an ivory ground. The mouth and foot of the vase are decorated with vibrant gold gilding as well as burnished gold. The gilding is in excellent condition with minor loss noted on top of the mouth rim. The vase is marked with the Tressemann and Vogt overglaze decorating mark in red, circa early 1880's. It also bears the mark of the American importer, Ovington Bros. Beautiful Limoges jardiniere with roses. This jardiniere sits on four ornate feet and has a pierced collar. The feet and collar are painted a deep green and are accented with vibrant gold highlights. The gilding is in excellent condition, with minor wear noted to the high points of the upper rim of the jardiniere. Two hand painted cameos appear on opposite sides of the jardiniere's green collar. One cameo features a portrait of a lovely young woman. The second cameo contains a small bouquet of pink roses. The body of the jardiniere is hand painted with life-like pink roses and foliage on ground of white, pink, and pale blue. The very talented artist has signed and dated the base of the jardiniere, "Esther 1897". The jardiniere measures 8 ¼" in diameter and stands 7 ¼" tall to the top of the rim. It is hand painted with purple violets and greenery on a ground of white and mint green. Gold gilding adorns the raised relief areas of the lamp, and the gilding show minor wear on the base rim. The lamp measures 10" tall to the top of its "original" threaded, brass fitting. PLEASE NOTE: This lamp has been fitted with a new electric brass lamp fixture that holds an amber glass shade. Monumental and impressive Limoges potpourri jar or urn. This wonderful potpourri jar stands a stately 19 ½" tall to the top of the finial and measures 8" in diameter at its widest point. It is marked with the William Guerin underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1891-1900. Decoration on the jar features an entirely hand painted portrait of a romantic,Victorian couple in elegant period attire. The lovely Victorian lady is wearing a flowing dress with layer upon layer of white and lavender chiffon. Her dress appears to have a train, and she is holding a bouquet of white roses. Raised white enamel highlights give the period clothing a very natural and real appearance. The couple is standing on an outdoor stairway, with a natural woodland setting in the background. On the opposite side of the jar is a lovely outdoor setting with large trees in the foreground and a quaint castle in the background. The very talented artist, J. Polley, has signed the piece. Encircling the base, neck, and lid of the potpourri jar are garlands of multi-colored roses and greenery. Lovely gold gilding covers the base rim, mouth rim, finial, and edges of the reticulated diamond-shaped and circular openings in the jar's lid. The gilding is in very good condition with minor wear noted to the rims and finial. There is one small, shallow fleck on the outside of the drop-in portion of the lid and one minute fleabite on the rim of the lid. Neither defect is visible when lid is in place. Magnificent and ornate Imperial Crown China vase. This large pillow vase features a scalloped rim and base along with ornate handles. The front panel of the vase is decorated with an A. Kauffman classic, country scene with two women and a man. Above and below the country scene are three separate floral cameos, featuring dainty roses, daisies, and forget-me-nots. The back of the vase is decorated with two additional floral cameos. Detailed gold work frames each of the cameos. Intricate gold designs, along with three bright blue bands, encircle the body, neck, and mouth of the vase. The gold gilding on the edges of the handles shows some wear, and there is minor fading to some of the intricate gold design in a few places. This minor wear does not in any way detract from the beauty of the piece. The vase stands 8 ¾" tall and measures 10" from handle to handle. Adorable and petite Limoges squat vase. This little squat vase measures 2" tall and 5" in diameter. It is hand painted with clusters of vivid purple violets and lush greenery. Ground colors are lilac, green, purple, yellow, and burnt orange. The mouth of the vase is decorated with gold gilding that is in excellent condition. The artist's initials, McR, appear on the bottom of the vase. The underglaze white ware mark is that of the Tressemann and Vogt Factory, circa 1892-1907. Exquisite Limoges vase hand painted with vibrant, multi-colored nasturtiums. This lovely footed vase features an elegant scalloped rim. It is hand painted with brightly colored clusters of orange, burgundy, and yellow nasturtiums and greenery on a background with shades of deep green to pale peach blush. The centers of the blossoms are painted with raised white enamel highlights which give them a life-like appearance. The vase is signed on the bottom by the artist, Carrie York. It is marked with the A. Klingenberg and Charles Dwenger underglaze white ware mark, circa 1890-1910. This beautiful vase measures 5" tall and is 5" in diameter at its widest point. Lovely vintage Limoges lamp with roses. This hand painted lamp is decorated with white long-stem roses and foliage on a background of mint, seafoam, and hunter greens. The painted horizontal striations in the center of the lamp's body give the impression of water in the background. The porcelain base of the lamp stands 11' tall. The lamp's total height from brass base to top of the shade bracket is 21". The porcelain base is marked on the bottom with the Jean Pouyat underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1890-1932. The original cloth cord was cracked, making it unsafe to use. It has been replaced and will accompany the lamp when it is shipped to the purchaser. There is one minute flake, pin head size, on the top rim of the porcelain base (please see photo 4 and 5). This beautiful lamp has no other damage or flaws. |

Fantastic Limoges pillow vase with daffodils. Both sides of this lovely vase are beautifully hand painted with white daffodils and foliage on a ground of blended shades of green. Stunning vintage hand painted lamp. This beautiful brass and porcelain lamp is expertly hand painted and signed by Chicago studio artist, C. F. Koenig. Koenig painted for the Pickard, Brauer, and Donath studios and also established his own studio in 1915. The lamp is decorated with vivid purple morning glories on a yellow-green background. The small leaves in the background are green, but the larger leaves in the foreground are done in gold gilt, as are the stems. The lamp has not been disassembled to view any factory or decorator marks that might be there. The porcelain portion of the lamp measures 10 ½" tall and is 6 ½" in diameter at it widest point. The lamp measures 26 ½" tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the shade bracket. It contains no chips, cracks, or repairs. Excellent condition. |

This elegant vase bears no factory mark but the blank is identical to the Jean Pouyat pillow vase pictured on page 257 (Plate 635) of Mary Frank Gaston's "Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain" (Third Edition). The vase is hand painted with life-like pink poppies and foliage on a background of beautifully blended shades of brown, green, blue, and creamy white. The floral clusters are accented with brown scrollwork and raised white enamel highlights. The rim and handles of the vase are painted with gold gilding that shows minimal wear. Decorated with springtime in mind, this vase is hand painted with graceful pink tulips, various shades of green foliage, and clouds on a white background. Large and gorgeous Limoges jardiniere. This lovely jardiniere is hand painted and signed by the artist, A. E. Abbott. The entire circumference of the piece, 37", is decorated with large red, pink, and yellow roses and greenery on a pale blue and green background. The jardiniere has a deep, gilded rim that extends 1 ½" into the inner bowl. The gilding is in excellent condition. The jardiniere is 9" tall and the bottom is 6" in diameter. This gorgeous handled vase is unmarked but artist signed, M.F.C., on the bottom. We have seen an identical blank marked Imperial Austria. What is unique about the vase is the dating on each side of the front - 1843 and 1893. It perhaps was made to commemorate someones life. The numbers 18 and 4 are impressed into the bottom of the vase. The artwork is beautiful with morning glories and lavish gold gilt adorning the vase all around. It stands 10" tall and is 8" from handle to handle. It is in excellent condition with some gold wear on the neck and base. |
