Fabulous Limoges cracker jar with fruit. This colorful factory-decorated cracker jar is decorated with clusters of cherries, apples, and peaches, along with delicate white flowers. The flowers and fruit have raised enamel highlights. Vibrant gold gilding adorns the handles, rims, and finial of the jar. The gilding is in excellent condition, with minor scuffing noted to the gold handles. The French factory artist, Flores, has signed the jar near the handle. The flared and flowing shape of this cracker jar is unique and very appealing to the eye. It measures 9" from handle to handle and stands 5" tall to the top of the finial. Lovely four-sided Limoges biscuit jar. Each of the four sides, or panels, of this biscuit jar and lid is hand painted with a different floral decoration, including roses, mums, bachelor buttons, and tulips. Gold bands extend up the sides of the jar at each of the four corners and continue onto the lid and ornate finial. The outermost gold bands show some wear to the gold, but the loss does not detract from the beauty of the piece. The biscuit jar is initialed and dated on the bottom by the artist, LG '91, for 1891. The piece is marked with the A. Lanternier underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1890s. The jar, with lid in place, stands 7 ½" tall to the top of the finial and is 5" square at the top rim. Elegant Limoges covered jar. This expertly hand painted jar stands 7" tall to the top of the finial and is 6 ½" in diameter at its widest point. It is marked with the William Guerin underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1900-1932. The entire circumference of the vase is hand painted with lovely pink roses and greenery on a background of sky blue and taupe. The flower-shaped finial is covered with gold gilding as is the inner rim of the jar. The top portion of the jar is decorated with intricate raised gold scrolling, accented with raised blue beads. One of the blue beads has been lost and there are a few slight rubs to the gold gilding, but this does not detract from the beauty of the piece. Elegant Limoges condensed milk set. This beautiful set is decorated in the Art Nouveau style with lime green poppies and foliage. The handles, finial, and rims are decorated with gold gilt applied in a very intricate design. This set is an example of the French "mixtion" technique, a combination of transfer and hand painted decoration. The blank itself is a beautifully molded and sculptured piece of high quality porcelain, with raised relief on all three pieces of the set. The container is 5 ½" tall to the top of the finial. The underplate measures 6" in diameter. Both the underplate and container are double marked with the Gerard, Dufraisseix, and Abbot underglaze white ware mark, circa 1900-1941, as well as the Charles Field Haviland overglaze decorating mark in red, circa 1900-1941. This set is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. |

Gorgeous early Limoges biscuit jar. This exquisite biscuit jar is hand painted with gold jeweled floral designs. Each floral scene is unique and outlined with a pale blue border and raised gold enamel detailing, giving it a very elegant appearance. The finial, lid rim, and upper rim of the jar are decorated with gold gilt with elaborate raised detail. The only loss of gold is to the top rim, where the lid sits, and to one of the gold beads on the rim of the jar cover. The gold enamel work elsewhere on the piece is in perfect condition. The jar stands 7 3/4" tall to the top of the finial and is 7" in diameter at its widest point. It is marked with a very early Tressemann and Vogt underglaze white ware mark in green, circa early 1890's. This unique biscuit jar is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. |
