Gorgeous Limoges leaf-shaped dish with roses, private labeled for Pitkin and Brooks. This beautiful dish is expertly hand painted with pink and red roses and greenery on a ground of creamy ivory, peach blush, deep green, and gray. The stem-handle and rim of the dish are decorated with gold gilding that is in excellent condition, with minor wear noted to the high points of the rim. Listed French-factory artist, A. Lajus, has signed the dish. It measures 10" wide, 8 ½" long, and stands 1 ¾" tall at the rim. It is marked with the Elite Works underglaze white ware mark in green, used after 1900, along with the Pitkin and Brooks private label in red, circa 1903-1917. Lovely Limoges open-handled tray with roses. This tray measures 13 3/4" long and 9" wide. It is expertly hand painted with soft white and pink blush roses on a ground of buttery yellow, pale pink, ivory, and mint green. The open handles and scalloped rim of the tray are decorated with gold gilding that is in very good condition, with minor wear noted to the scalloped rim. The artist's signature, E. Thomas (a pseudonym for well-known china painter, Esther Miler), appears on the front of the tray. The tray is marked with the Vignaud factory mark in green circa 1911-1938. Fabulous Limoges charger or handled tray with roses. This large hand painted charger or tray is expertly rendered with multicolored roses and lilacs on a ground of white, amber, and peach. The ornate and scalloped rim is decorated with heavily applied gold gilding that is in very good condition, with slight wear noted to the outermost rim and highpoints. Listed French-factory artist, Fiseier, has signed the charger near one of the red roses. The tray is marked with the Tressemann and Vogt underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1907-1919, as well as the T&V overglaze decorating mark in red from that same period. The charger measures 15" across from handle to handle and is 13 ½" across in the opposite direction. With no chips, cracks, or restoration, this large and lovely piece is in excellent condition. |

This beautifully shaped blank is expertly hand painted with ripe, red raspberries, white blossoms, and greenery on a ground of butter yellow, soft green, amber, and sienna. Colorful Limoges portrait charger or plaque. This hand painted plaque depicts a Dutch lady and gentleman in period attire, right down to the gentleman's wooden shoes. They appear to be resting or waiting on a pier, with baskets ready to tote home the catch of the day. Their brightly colored attire stands out against the turquoise blue water and mauve and yellow sunset on the horizon. The sculpted and ornate rim of the plaque is decorated with rich gold gilding that is in excellent condition, with very minor wear to some of the high points. The curved and scalloped rim is trimmed with a wide band of rich gold gilding that is in excellent condition. The tray is signed and dated on the back by the artist, Lenora M. Kline, 08'. Though unmarked, the tray is definitely Limoges in origin. This same blank is pictured in Mary Frank Gaston's, "Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain" (Third Edition) on page 36 (Plate 22) where it is attributed to Elite Works. Large and lovely Limoges butter tub or handled bowl. This French factory decorated piece measures 5 ¼" in diameter at its base, 7 ½" from handle to handle, and stands 4 ½" tall to the top of the handles. It is double marked with the Tressemann and Vogt underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1892-1907, as well as the T&V overglaze decorating mark in red, circa 1892-1907. It is decorated with colorful pink and yellow chrysanthemums on a ground of white and spring green. The handles and rim of the bowl are painted with gold gilding that is in excellent condition. If this is a butter tub, it is much larger than the standard size we have seen in the past and is without the drainer or insert. As a butter tub or a handled bowl, it is an excellent example of antique Limoges porcelain, and is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. |

Lovely Limoges tray decorated at the Ravenwood Studio. This elegant hand painted tray is decorated with pink and yellow roses and greenery on a ground of rich green, warm pink and pale yellow. The scalloped rim of the tray is lined with lovely gold gilding. The tray measures 9 ¾" long and 3 ¾" wide. It is marked with the Ravenwood decorating mark, circa 1900-1914. Ravenwood was operated by the H.P. Sinclaire Glass Company and located in Corning, New York. The small studio had few artists, with the only known being D. Walther and M. Ernle. This tray is unsigned, and, perhaps, was painted by one of those artists. It was the custom of the Ravenwood studio to overpaint the French manufacturer's mark with gold paint, as is done on this tray. The Tressemann and Vogt underglaze white ware mark, circa 1892-1907, is still visible through the gold paint. This pretty tray is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. |

Exquisite Limoges tray with roses. This wonderful tray is hand painted with pink and red roses, vines, and foliage on a ground of expertly shaded green, peach blush, blue, ivory, and taupe. The inside and outside of the tray are beautifully decorated with rose clusters. Elegant raised enamel scrollwork connects the clusters of roses on the tray's interior. The scalloped, beaded rim and open handles are decorated with gold gilding that is in perfect condition. The scalloped rim is also outlined with a blue-black color that offers a stunning contrast to the tray's lovely color pallet. The tray measures 13" long, 6" wide, and stands 2" high. It is marked with the Klingenberg and Dwenger underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1890's-1910. This lovely antique tray is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Enormous and rare Limoges decorative portrait plaque. This large plaque measures 18" in diameter and is 2 ½" deep at the rim. Framing the expertly rendered scene is a beautifully ornate and heavily gilded rococo border. The vibrant gold gilding is in near mint condition. The hand painted tavern scene depicts Victorian ladies, cavaliers, and a barefoot musician, all in period attire. The tavern dog is also depicted. Well-known French factory artist, Dubois, has signed the plaque. The hand painted surface of the plaque is in perfect condition, with the exception of a very thin ½" long scratch under the chair where the cavalier is seated. The faint scratch blends in with the stone floor of the tavern and does not detract at all from the beauty of the very colorful tavern scene. The plaque is pierced and wired for hanging. Gorgeous Stouffer berry drainer set with nasturtiums. This berry drainer and underplate are hand painted with red-orange nasturtiums and vibrant green foliage on a ground of buttery yellow, ivory, and amber. Wide borders of rich gold gilding adorn both pieces of the set. The fluted and footed drainer bowl sits on three gilded feet. The gilding is in exceptional condition with only one minute area of loss on the rim of the drainer. Both pieces of the set are signed by listed Pickard and Stouffer Studio artist, Harry E. Michel.
