Large and lovely Limoges sugar and creamer set with roses. This charming set is beautifully hand painted with trailing pink roses and greenery on a ground of soft mint green and white. The handles and rims are decorated with rich gold gilding that is in excellent condition. Very minor wear is noted to the high points of the sugar bowl handles. The artist, M. Neville, has signed the bottom of both pieces. Both pieces are marked with the Tressemann and Vogt underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1892-1907. The design name, Touraine, also appears within the mark. The large sugar bowl measures 6 ¾" from handle to handle and it stands 5 ½" tall to the top of the finial. The creamer measures slightly less than 5" tall at the handle. With no chips, cracks, or restoration, this delightful sugar and creamer set is in excellent condition. |
