Handsome Austrian whiskey jug with stopper. This vintage whiskey jug is hand painted with corn, leaves, and tassels on a ground of chocolate brown, golden amber, and taupe. The handle, stopper, and mouth opening of the jug are decorated with gold gilding that does show some wear on one side of the stopper and on the handle, where the thumb would rest. Part of the original cork covering on the stopper is missing. The jug is marked Vienna, Austria, circa early 1900's. It measures 6" in diameter and stands 7" tall to the top of the stopper. With no chips, cracks, or repairs, this antique whiskey jug is in excellent condition.
