Charming Limoges and Nippon dresser set with roses. This set includes a dresser tray, hair receiver, and two small, covered jars. Each piece of the set is hand painted with delicate pink wild roses and greenery on a ground of pale blue, white, amber, and blue-gray. The rims of the dresser tray, hair receiver, and one of the small jars are decorated with gold gilding that shows very minor wear. The artist has initialed and dated the back of the dresser tray, M. M. C. 1919. The tray is marked with the Gerard, Dufraisseix, and Abbot underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1900-1941. It measures 13" long and 10 1/4" wide. The hair receiver is marked with the Vignaud Limoges underglaze white ware mark in green from that same period. It measures 4 ¾" in diameter and stands 3" tall. The two small covered jars are marked Nippon. They stand slightly over 2" tall. Though the pieces bear different manufacturer's marks, all four pieces were hand painted by the same artist. This lovely antique dresser set is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
