Lovely set of Limoges chocolate or demitasse cups and saucers. This set includes four matching cups and saucers. Each cup is hand painted with red and pink roses and greenery on a ground of white, taupe, and pale blue. At the top of each cup is a band of soft mint green, bordered by narrow bands of gold gilding. The handles and inner rims of the cups are also gilded. Each of the matching saucers is decorated with the same band of soft mint green, bordered by narrow bands of rich gold gilding. The artist has initialed and dated each saucer, R. B. Le. 1911. Each piece of the set is marked with the Tressemann and Vogt underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1907-1919. The saucers measure 4 ¾" in diameter. The cups stand 3" tall. All pieces of this lovely set are in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, repairs, or wear to the gilding. |
