Handsome Limoges game charger with ducks in flight. This charger features a scalloped and sculpted rim. It is hand painted with two Mallard ducks in flight. Background colors are a lovely pastel palette of lavender, peach, blue, fuchsia, cream, and pink. The scalloped rim is decorated with gold gilding that is in good condition, with wear noted to the high points of the rim. Well-known French factory artist, Baumy, has signed the charger. The charger measures 13 ½" in diameter and is double marked with the Limoges, France, underglaze white ware mark in green, used after 1891, along with the Blakeman & Henderson overglaze "script" exporting mark in green, circa early 1900's. With no chips, cracks, or repairs, this fine antique charger is in excellent condition. |
