Handsome Limoges game charger with ducks. This charger is expertly hand painted with mallard ducks in a natural marshland setting. The colorful ducks are striking against the background colors of mauve, blue-green, lavender, and pale blue. The ornate and beaded rim of the charger is decorated with heavily applied gold gilding that is in excellent condition. Listed French factory artist, L. Coudert, has signed the charger. It measures 10 ¾" in diameter and is double marked with the P. M. Mavaleix underglaze white ware mark, circa 1908-1914, along with the George Borgfeldt (Coronet) overglaze decorating mark in green, circa 1906-1920. With no chips, cracks, or repairs, this antique charger is in excellent condition.
