Beautiful Limoges oval-shaped pudding bowl with roses. This pudding bowl is expertly hand painted with life-like pink and red roses and greenery on a ground of mint green, pale yellow, baby blue, lavender, and peach. The scalloped rim of the bowl is decorated with gold gilding that is in very good condition, with minimal loss noted. Also noted is some minor discoloration and rubbing on the bowl's interior, just below the inner rim. Pudding bowls had liners, and this rubbing may be a result of the liner resting against the side of the bowl over many years. Please see the photo. The bowl measures 9" long, 6 ¼" wide, and stands 2 ½" tall at the rim. It is marked with the Tressemann and Vogt underglaze white ware mark in green, which includes the design name, Venice, and the patent date of 1899. This lovely oval pudding bowl is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. |
